Need of regulating the real estate sector arose as mere cure is not sufficient; protection is required so that the customers and promoters do not face any rigid difficulty later. So, it became necessary to have a central legislation i.e., Real Estate (Regulation and development) Act, 2016 to protect the interest of customer protection, uniformity and standardisation of practices and transactions in real estate sector.
